Sustainability Progress

Safety is one of Dow Corning's core values. We're committed to the safety and health of our employees and others working at our facilities.

Corporate Occupational Injury and Illness (OIIR)

Dow Corning strives for an injury-free work environment for all of our employees, and we are continually working to reduce the number of injuries and illnesses among our workers. By focusing on preventing situations that cause injury or illness and by adopting good safety practices, we are achieving steady improvement.
OIIR: 1.06 in 2011; 0.81 in 2015

Dow Corning is certified to the American Chemistry Council’s RC14001 management system specification, which is designed to assure continual improvement in environmental performance.

Greenhouse Gas Emissions

More than 90 percent of Dow Corning’s greenhouse gas emissions are as a result of purchased electricity and natural gas, with much smaller contributions from other fuels and losses of refrigerants. We use the World Resources Institute (WRI) Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Standard for accounting of greenhouse gas emissions.

Million Metric Tons of CO2: 3.5 in 2011; 3.2 in 2015
