Thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) combine the elastomeric properties of
thermoset rubber with the design freedom, processing ease and recyclability of
thermoplastic resins. These versatile materials are increasingly popular thanks
to their appealing soft feel, colorability, resilience, flexibility and
strength. TPEs can be co-injection molded or overmolded onto rigid plastic
substrates without the need for adhesives, supporting part consolidation and
avoiding the costs of secondary operations.
Dow Corning’s broad TPE portfolio includes Multiflex®
styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS)-based TPE compounds, silicone enhanced
TPEs called SiE and TPSiV® materials, which add the desirable properties of
silicone to the performance benefits of any TPE.

excellent resistance to chemicals, temperature extremes and fatigue. Expanded
